It would seem that this may not affect all hardware quite the same, some have

Here I've tested on 3 machines using the latest image, 2 laptops, 1 desktop.

I had the same problem as tomx
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-
manager/+bug/989900/comments/7) -- my /etc/resolve.conf had wrong values
in it that would not update no matter what I did. It is my
understanding that this file should update relative to the network I'm
on.
This has been fixed in the oem projects, but I'm not sure if it's the
same bug or not. There was a problem whereby fluendo wrapper was not
properly escaping a bash variable. I'll open a new bug against the
fluendo package.
