I belong to group of people that can solve the problem by doing sudo
pkill compiz-decorator and pkill -9 compiz.
I first upgraded to Linux Kernel 3.6.10 without any change (2-3 crash
everyday)
Than I upgraded again to linux Kernel 3.7.0-030700-generic...and I'm running it
since 48 hours
Moving to ubuntu-themes (the successor of ubuntu-mono light-themes).

Week 50- Same issue observed after installing Ubuntu 12.04 Precise with
ppa:unity-team/sru on Nvidia machine.
