I have the same issue running DELL Latitude D430 with Intel Mobile
945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller.
I can confirm, that SNA workaround fixes the issue.

at 100% it also causes compiz to max out at 100% cpu - which freezes my

12.04.
There's two problems, one with the irc channel topic, and other when we
chatting with people.
As can be seen in picture, there's a problem in some characters like é

The really odd part is that I'm using the same profile on a 64 bit
partition and it shows no sign of the bug. Ditto my old laptop.
