Ok, after a deep look into this it seems the usblp kernel module does not set
the ieee1284_id proper, which makes system-config-printer-udev skip the device

I'm still regularly stricken by the memory leak in the compiz process.
I have to kill compiz every couple of days after it bloats to several GB

This bug was affecting me as well. Bruno Haible's workaround (switch
Compositing to XRender) seems to have worked for me. I was seeing the
effect in simple "ls -a" (which doesn't scroll) in xterm, as well as in
emacs running in an xterm.
I'm running Kubuntu 12.04, fully uptodate.

whatever you want:
- first create a text object with the defaults you like, for example fill but
no stroke.
- go to File->Inkscape Preferences
- then go to Tools->Text
- click on "This tools own style"

Ok after a clean full rebuild of krita, it actually works correctly with the
graphire4 now.
(still cursor is a bit buggy if both intuos3 and graphire4 are both connected,
but not too big issue..)
So the problem remains with the intuos 3 which is not working at all, it looks
like it's not proper

For me, the default text settings have the fill and stroke set to black.
I have to remember to turn off the stroke, especially with certain
fonts. This is the best work around for the moment.

Sorry guys, it seems I was a bit too hasty reporting this bug. Turns out
the problem is actually in the mic itself. I don't have another mic
handy so I plugged my headphones into the mic jack and was able to
record some sound that way. It was a bit distorted, but that is most
probably because I use
