FWIW I found that restarting the machine and reinserting the usb stick, gave me
a normally functional usb with nautilus.
Another fix was to install an alternative file manager Thunar, and make use of
this while the problem occurred.

I wanted to adjust the speed of my touchpad, because it was too fast for
me. So I adjusted it in the settings, but every time i close the
mouse/touchpad settings window the value will go back to default.

Fairly recent, I only changed the default for SNA so you would only have
experienced the change on the switch in raring. Considering the
limitations upon hardware, the change is advisable for both gen2 and
gen3 (more so for gen2 than gen3), and a very popular customisation
amongst gen2 users.

The feature to record the currently played audio stream - known to me as
the stereo mixer - disappeared from the drop down menu for recoding
devices in, for example, audacity. As far as I understood, this is due
to a failure of the underlying audio layer.

Oops... I figured out that I pressed a wrong button on the web interface
of my OpenWrt router yesterday when I set the MAC filter. Sorry... It
works now.
