This problem has completely cleared up for me since installing 14.04
about two months ago. Previously the problem would be seen almost every
day and I had to either run usb_modeswitch to reset the modem or bounce
modem-manager, so two months without a problem is great.

I reinstalled, from 12.04 i386 to 14.04 amd64, keeping /home.
I recreated other user and password.
Even after reboot the user won't see his name on greeter. The single way for
him to log in is to switch user from my own system menu.

and is a duplicate of bug #1229021, so is being marked as such.
Hi Marco,
I downloaded the Hotkey app from Clevo and InitHeadphone.exe is still
present. All it does is calling the function InitHeadphone from hp.dll.
If you don't like the Hotkey app, I guess you can also fix the problem
(on windows!) by saving hp.dll, uninstalling the Hotkey app and then
Dimitri, are you going to revert that patch? I was going to revert it
locally to verify that installing the new util-linux 2.24 from debian
experimental fixed it, but it seems that the bzr branch is significantly
out of date for some reason...
