Public bug reported:
I'm getting "Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked" and a segfault
when running Ubuntu MATE Remix 14.10.
It seems this bug is reported elsewhere in a number of other packages
and is a result of a change in GLib ≥ 2.41.
I am told this patch can fix it.

17:14 If someone wants to sponsor emacs24 in bug 493766 it looks fine
to me but I've just noticed it's in main so I can't upload it.
17:14 (though a merge would be better)
Sorry! One minor note: Origin: backport would be more appropriate for
0017-Further-improve-create_frame_xic-
I have the same problem as originally described. However, I have the
following message when running
unity-control-center user-accounts
in a terminal
My messages are
libwayland_ltst-client.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Failed to load module:
/usr/lib/x86_64-l
Following up on the above, I went to Settings - Backups - Back Up Now to
manually start a backup and had the same result. Most of my memory was
consumed, never to be returned.

@jamesodhunt
Disabling 'quiet splash' doesn't seem to reproduce the issue in the 20 reboots
I attempted.
