I use unity config center to set two input languages and check use individual
input source per window.
But it does not work for me. I tried guest session. Same issue.
Language input source is global for all windows.

In order to enable X11 forwarding from an external host you must
explicitly set the Xserver to listen by overriding the xserver-command.
Previously you could set the xserver-allow-tcp=true and it would do this
automatically.

Same problem with Toshiba Satellite P55t-B5154 running Mint 17 KDE
(64-bit).
Fernando's fix worked for me as well.
Ron, I think the keyboard volume control problem is separate. For the
past month (since I installed Mint on this laptop) I have not had sound,
so I cannot say anything about the
