Title:
Unity8-dash on Intel Atom graphics crashes and restarts
Ok, I suspect I have found the issue. Seems this hardware only supports
OpenGL 1.4 compatibility profile. Qt's EGL code is asking for at least
version 2.0, and so getting no valid context back.
Could you please install "mesa-utils" package and run "glxinfo". On the
hardware I have access to, I
I don't need the files in /etc/systemd/system, the default ones work
after I removed the "new" ones:
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/saned.socket; enabled; vendor preset:
enabled)
.
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/saned@.service; indirect; vendor preset:
enabled)
I don't recall using
I get
[+0.01s] CRITICAL: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)'

in the logs (or when running in test mode). This only happens when
trying to run under Mir. Meaning I can delete 51-unity8-greeter.conf and
lightdm starts just fine. The error happens before usc/mir are able to
log
You need this or something more?

I can confirm that for me, with all packages updated, copying the
saned*service files from /lib/systemd/system/ to /etc/systemd/ and then
running systemctl start saned.socket made everything work again.
Yay!
I would still say this is a (packaging) bug though. It should work out
of the box.
What is the status of this as at 16.04?
