Um, from scratch installed 17.10.1 onto my rig. The first thing I did
was go grab the instructions to install stable wine. Following their
instructions I have hit this error like a million times. Everytime it

then comes back to life. The external display stays on. It looks as if
power management were kicking in by error but affecting only the
DisplayPort MST seems to work with open-source drivers on Ubuntu 16.04.3
