I believe it's incorrect to mark this bug as a duplicate of bug #1700085.
In fact, in bug #1700085, the user puts a lot of effort to get hidpi scaling
and, even if he succeds in that, he is not able to
OK, update on the above. Taking google drive ocamlfuse out of the mix
solved the problem. I am now backing up locally and syncing the backup
with Insync. Two backups have run without incident. I haven't tried a
restore yet but all looks good so far. Looking at this with some of the
other posts

Firefox 63.0 deletes saved web pages.
Reproduce:
Open any web page
File -> Save page as
Save it (I saved into several different locations to verify this was not
related to the directory)
This will save the html file and a folder containing all embedded elements
Close tab

I tried HDMI instead of DP and it worked without any problem. I haven't
gotten around to changing the desktop environment yet
