We believe that all the documentation errors and shortcomings have been
addressed, subsequently I'm setting this bug to Fix Released.
Additionally, the bugs with packages due to the 5.8 kernel have also
been resolved and if they have not new bug reports about the specific
package should be opened.
We have found the issue and are working actively on a fix - we actually
have one already but we're just want to confirm that it indeed works
and, at least as much as we can, checking that it doesn't regress

Autopkgtests started failing on xenial

This is caused by the virtualenv wrapper script that by default installs the
latest version of pip.
Since version 21.0 (released on 2021-01-23), pip dropped support for Python
3.5, which is what we have in xenial.
So the script needs to be modified to pin the version of pip
pitti fake-devices-wrapper is not used for testing, usually.
We also use it to run Ubiquity installer and make it pretend that it
needs nvidia dkms modules; and we want to complete the VM install in the
UEFI mode. Hence we want the wrapper think that UEFI and Secureboot is
on; when doing those.
