Hey it looks like Lenovo has released a new BIOS version for the Legion
S7 16ARHA7 Slim model (the one I have that still has no sound). I'm
curious if anyone has updated to this BIOS yet and if that's resolved
any issues or if this would allow further development on the audio
issue.

Same issue with external monitor in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Fedora 39 (KDE
plasma) and I observed it with many other distributions (e.g. Lubuntu
23.10). With exactly same setup, Windows 10 Pro on my lenovo T470s with
external monitor does not give any issues, so, not a HW problem. Tried
xset -dpms, sxet
Problem solved (At last!!).
Since I am not a Linux/Debian/Ubuntu matter, I can't give detailed
reasoning the cause-consequence relationship. But this is what I did
after hundreds of tries.
1. Update SOF firmware binaries.
