I've just discovered that the links are opened in Firefox, which I have
running in another virtual window. That's strange and counter-intuitive,
especially when PDF files in emails I've received are opened in another
tab within Thunderbird, but it does actually work.

from "NetworkManager Applet" telling me that I am connected to a wifi
network or disconnected from a wifi network. I repeatedly click on
"Don't show this again", but they keep on being shown. My desktop

Reduce animation setting gets forgotten on every
I think I've figured out why this is happening. If I restart directly
into Ubuntu, then it works correctly and the setting is remembered.
However, if I restart into Unity, then back into Ubuntu, the setting is
forgotten. Perhaps Unity is overwriting the setting?

After upgrading from Ubuntu 23.10 to 24.04, the DMZ-White mouse pointer
works correctly when the pointer is over a window, but shows a pale grey
square when over the desktop or Ubuntu top bar. This appears to happen
because the /usr/share/icons/DMZ-White/cursors/default file
