I disabled tty2 to tty6 by removing /etc/init/tty[2-6].conf (or rename to

No lightdm brings up a login-screen on the first seat
Seems it was a random issue. After a further reboot, the problem came up again.
On another machine with two seats the problem disapears reliabally when I add
minimum-vt=10 to /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf. But this workarround does not
work on the other machine...

Seeing this on 2 machines actually. DE doesn't matter. (Tested Unity and
Gnome-Shell)
Both machines are 64 bit versions.
First: Nvidia 8600m using nvidia's driver
Second: Intel Sandy bridge (i3 with HD3000 gfx build-in)
For me it is not driver/DE
Same here with only 1 Screen, my laptop lid.
About 50% of the time i try to login from lockscreen, the box disappears.
My workaround is to just close the lid again, wait 5 secs, reopen and voila!
the login area is back.

I upgraded to precise but i cannot reproduce it anymore either. (I don't know

The first and older remebered the password correctly. The newer never
did. After setting up a new user account and setting up bookmarks again

OK, i know, this bug should be stopped posting to but i could kind of
workaround it:
A PC i am responsible for was crashing with 12.04 and 12.10 every hour
nearly. What solved it for me:
1) Updated to raring ringtail (upcoming 13.04), kernel 3.8.x. (Why is raring
THAT stable right now? It works
Same here since updated to Chrome v27 ( Flash 11.7 r700), the Problem
only exists when im using my Soundblaster5.1-USB.
My Workaround: Goto chrome://plugins switch to bultin Flash.
restarting pulseaudio has no effect for me.

I think because the version is added this will allways be considered
text and not the logo. And as text as can be seen on the wiki side

I cannot reproduce this on Ubuntu 12.10, do not have any older
installations anymore ...
