Working fine for me, at least.
From what I understand this is really a pulseaudio bug. I would very much like
to patch PA in 12.04 with the bugfix (haven't yet taken a good look at what
that was).
Which would be the best way to go about that?

input whatsoever. Both devices have been tested on other OSs, so I can
rule out any external problem.

temperature overheating
I was looking at your HW specs. Seems like a fairly new computer, but
something that did a huge difference for me, was blowing out dust from
the fan outtake. I wasn't able to see the dust visually. You only notice
it when you blow it. If you want to try this, please make sure you open
the back
This is my first SRU, so I don't know if I'm missing anything. What I
did now was I created two bzr branches with the fix for both Precise and
Quantal, and requested merges.

Ok, I've made a couple of merge requests. I've built and tried the fix
myself on both Precise and Quantal, and it works.

I added a section on regression potential. Since I'm not that big of a
