This happens in a Lubuntu install, version 12.04 fully up to date. I
have Midori web browser, and Chromium-browser is the default installed.
I have setup Midori in the preferred applications gui setup.
When removing chromium-browser, the package manager installs
files, that's bootchart files done with the
older network-manager configuation files:

Ok, after update to network-manager-gnome 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu4.2, and even
adding new icons (gnome-dust-icon-theme available on the repos for
Trusty, as I thought maybe my icon theme might be faulty), or even
, and if I disconnect the wifi right after,
it switches interface and IP without problem.
The solution is in the /etc/network/interfaces file.
The attached patch below solved it for me, I hope it can solve it for
everyone.

In Ubuntu Trusty freshly installed, the gnome-language-selector program
does not start. When invoking in console it sends messages related to
python3 among which can be seen "E : Zenity missing" (or that sort of
message).

Yes you are right (though the version used isn't the same). In Trusty it
used to work without it. Zenity is GUI made available for bash, and
gnome-language-selector uses python3.
If
way. I installed twice in a row in Virtualbox to be sure
of the result and each time after updating, I didn't get the GUI to go
wrong as it happened in that laptop.
So this bug report can be put aside, unless something new comes out with
gdkpixbuf.

friendly than the former one, 3.13.0-76 in this situation, with that one
hardware (the town on which I installed yesterday : I'll have it back to
