  * Impact
  the change is in the file monitor code, just check the behaviour on external 
changes (replace the image, edit it, etc)

Probably I discovered a pattern: This problem occurs when one or more
files are deleted from the memory stick and this process automatically
creates a hidden folder called .Trash-1000 (and another hidden files)
in the memory stick.

The icons are in sync while the memory stick is connected and files are
created in and deleted from the memory stick. When the memory stick is
disconnected later, this bug occurs when the trash applet is cleaned.

Fix this ridiculous bug, it is dirtying the reputation of the Ubuntu
here!

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-applets

  My trash applet shows that there are items in the trashcan and shows
  the full icon, but:

  ~$ cd .local/share/Trash 
  ~/.local/share/Trash$ ls -lR
  .:

  I'm reporting this from Jaunty:
  ~$ lsb_release -rd
  Description:  Ubuntu 9.04
  Release:  9.04

  The problem fixes itself (most of the times) when I log out and in
  again.

. The options pop-up almost appears, but Totem application craches before it.

The frame in trash window becomes white. When empty, it should be
orange.

  After than I work with files in a USB pendrive and I disconnect the
  device from the USB port, if I have files in the trash applet and I
  delete then from the trash, the full icon of trash applet don't
  change to the empty icon.

  The icon only changes correctly when the system is logged out or restarted.
  Steps:

  1. Plug a USB pendrive;
  2. Work with some files on this pendrive (create, move and delete to trash);
  3. Remove safety the pendrive;
  4. Empty the trash;
  5. The icon continues full, even when the trash folder is empty.

  (Obs.: this problem don't occur every time.)

If I cut or copy a file in a directory and I show the popup created by
the right button of the mouse, the option of paste that file looks
like disabled - but I can paste the file in the same directory or
another directory normally.

1 - In nautilus, cut or copy a file;
2 - show the popup from right button of the mouse in the same directory from 
the original file or in another directory (or in the desktop area);
3 - the option of past looks like disabled, but it works (pastes normally).
