Probably I discovered a pattern: This problem occurs when one or more files are deleted from the memory stick and this process automatically creates a hidden folder called .Trash-1000 (and another hidden files) in the memory stick. The icons are in sync while the memory stick is connected and files are created in and deleted from the memory stick. When the memory stick is disconnected later, this bug occurs when the trash applet is cleaned.
