  On my Mantic I have sources in new deb822 format.
  Starting software-properties-gtk seems my server is Main server, but from 
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources I see server from Italy and I 
software-properties-gtk seems unable to change.

VM booted with trusty, after choosing try ubuntu only the wall paper
and 2 desktop icons can be seen (no menues on the left/top). when cursor
moves to the left the screen goes black... same happens when trying
Alt+F2. When clicking blind on the left panel applications can be
opened.
