[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1577177] Re: cannot play any radio station on ubuntu 16.04

2016-05-15 Thread Andrea Amoroso
I think that the problem here is that the connection has no timeout and
even if I click the Stop button nothing happens. The only thing I can do
is to restart the Ubuntu session.

The problem seems to be solved by itself, after some Ubuntu 16.04
updates. This bug can be marked as closed for me.

Status in “pulseaudio” source package in Raring:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When I dist-upgraded to raring I lost audio. The indicator and
  settings showed no volume control.

Some debugging later showed that pulse audio wasn't running.

  When running manually:
  bob@alchemy:~/bzr/ubuntu/vte3$ pulseaudio

module-esound-protocol-unix: file not found
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Module load failed.
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Failed to initialize daemon.

I installed pulseaudio-esound-compat and then it worked:
  bob@alchemy:~/bzr/ubuntu/vte3$ sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-esound-compat

Luke said it worked for him without this module, but it appears having
the i386 module installed was confusing pulse into thinking it was
available but being unable to load it (I am using an amd64 machine).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 780117] Re: Brasero finishes without error but unusable media [on-the-fly mode] (Ubuntu 11.04 -12.04)

2012-07-31 Thread Andrea Amoroso
I tried the new upstream from the PPA, but it's not working. I mean, there are
some fixes and I think it works better, but still the mp3 cds I burnt are full
of the mp3 i chose, with some of them unreadable and others readable but with
many lags..to verify that, I tried with 3 different mp3 stereo and with the
same result..I tried also with Xfburn, no problem with the burning process, but
after that I can't even mount the cd, because the device seems empty..k3b gives
an error starting the burning process..
don't know what else to do..please try to help..
I have an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561S and I'm using Ubuntu 12.04..

When I burn a DVD (4,7 and 8,5 GB) Brasero show the progressbar till
about 30-40% (exact point is randomly) and than says, that it is
finalizing the media. This finalizing messages is showing for the rest
of the burning process (~10min @8x 8,5GB). After that, it ejects the
media without any error. But when I insert the media again, nothing
happens, except, that the DVD-Drive disappears from the computer:///
  location in nautilus.

This problem only exists when burning On-The-Fly. Burning ISO Images
or automatic creation of ISO Images before burning works without
problems. The burning speed doesn't matter to this problem. I test 8x,
4x and 2x. All the same problem. On-The-Fly burning using K3B works
  quite well @8x speed.

One thing I also notice is, that Brasero uses 100% CPU on one core,
while K3B uses just about 5-15%.

I attached the last Brasero log. I don't know, why it just says, that
it was only at 49% and then says it's finished. The burning took about
28 minutes. The media was unusable on all my three devices
  (Linux/Windows).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 850229] Re: Unread email count in thunderbird shown wrongly in messaging menu and launcher icon

2012-01-10 Thread Andrea Amoroso
I think that a problem with indicator and icon is also that, when you
erase the message count in the indicator, the icon count isn't erased
and it continues to show the previous number.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 873191] Re: Ubuntu starts with lowest brightness on HP G62[regression]

2011-11-12 Thread Andrea Amoroso
I have an HP G62 with video card Ati 5470 and I'm using the open source
driver..so I think this bug doesn't affect only xorg-video-intel..and it
also runs hot very soon, but this was just inserted in an other bug..it
doesn't happen with the proprietary driver, but there are many other
bugs using that..it didn't happen with the proprietary driver in Ubuntu
11.04 and there weren't critical bugs using that..
