The issue with Trusty for me was that I was using a PPA repo mc3man /trusty-media [https://launchpad.net/~mc3man/+archive/ubuntu/trusty- media] to get ffmpeg and related libraries, applications. This repo for some reason had "libvncserver0" in there at version "0.9.9+dfsg-6~ubuntu14.04.1~ppa1".
