I found a solution using symbolic links: mkdir $HOME/NetworkFS ln -s $HOME/.gvfs $HOME/NetworkFS
Then you can use $HOME/NetworkFS to access your network place. The workaround is to go through the hidden .gvfs folder (Ctrl+H) in your home folder to save the file. So the issue is related to gvfs since all these work in KDE.
