[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1594857] [NEW] LO Base ORB Report crashes on conditional formatting

2016-06-21 Thread Fred Saunier
Public bug reported:

After updating to LO 5.1.3.2 on Ubuntu Trusty and Xenial, Base Reports
(built with ORB) crash when trying to apply conditional formatting to a
field. LO Base is connected to MySQL in MySQL native mode. To reproduce:

1. open/create a report
2. select a field
3. Format - Conditional formatting
4. Create a condition, select a format (bold, color, italics, whatever)
5. Apply

A message box pops-up with "std::bad_cast" and the whole of LO Base
crashes.

Existing reports containing conditional formatting created before the
update to LO 5.1.3.2 do run properly, with fields being conditionally
applied. However, when trying to edit these and modify their conditional
formatting, the same bug happens and LO Base crashes.

I originally reported the bug to the Document Foundation
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100303), they
cannot reproduce the bug. Hence my thinking this could be specific to
our distro.

** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

On Xenial, the problem appears to be solved with LO 5.1.3 -- connection
to database in native MySQL is now stable.

Complementary to comment #3, connections work fine on Trusty with LO
5.1.2.2 using native MySQL. It would appear the issue is with Xenial
only.

2016-05-06 Thread Fred Saunier
Hello, I am also affected by this bug since I upgraded to Xenial.

In my case, it is possible to connect through the MySQL JDBC driver (as
a workaround).

However, the connection is way slower than what it was before the
upgrade (I was then running LO 4.4 on Vivid), or than with my other
desktop (still running Trusty).
