suggested. It is a read-only file and I can't edit it. Any ideas how to
do so? My issue is also that my second and third monitors are mostly

With a wireless logitech M185 and a "PixArt Microsoft USB Optical Mouse"
Setting the speed through xinput has no effect, but "xinput --list-props
" shows the updated value.
Changing mouse speed through GUI does not change the value listed by
xinput.

messages in a folder with a lot of messages, the CPU usage spikes and TB

That was the only terminal window I had but it was not in focus so it's

Exactly same problem here with Vaio-VPCY11V9E.
"acpi_video0", "acpi_video1" and "intel_backlight" folders at
/sys/class/backlight and only intel_backlight works when echo'ing values
to brightness with ubuntu 11.10

I'm using Unity, and had the "HTML mode" config set to "Show HTML if
present". After changing it to "Show plaintext if present" I've not seen
this issue anymore. It's only been a few hours since I've changed it, so
we'll see if that actually fixes the issue.
