[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1224575] Re: gnome-control-center keyboard no longer has way to modify caps lock key behavior
The proposed workaround with gnome-tweak-tool doesn't work for me. I can change the behaviour of Caps Lock in some ways, but not in others. Swiching Caps Lock with ESC works, but disabling it doesn't! (I use Unity with German localization. Could that affect the behaviour?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1224575 Title: gnome-control-center keyboard no longer has way to modify caps lock key behavior Status in GNOME Control Center: New Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Up until Raring, it was trivial to use the gnome-control-center to modify caps lock key behavior. In earlier versions you could do the following: - Launch System Settings - Click on Keyboard Layout - Click on Options - These options allow one to modify Caps Lock Key behavior (for example swap it with ESC) In newer versions of Saucy I try to do the following: - Launch System Settings - Click on Keyboard - Click on Layout Settings - Cannot find a location similar to these older options These older 'Keyboard Layout Options' made it very easy to do things like swaping Caps Lock for ESC which make vim users much happier. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1301225] [NEW] Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas
Public bug reported: System info: Firefox 28 Thunderbird 24.4.0 Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit When I edit text in Firefox or Thunderbird, parts of this text (usually entire rows above the cursor) seem to disappear while I type. This happens e.g. when I edit an email message inThunderbird, or edit a Jira comment or a Wikipedia page in Firefox. Sometimes the 'opposite' happens, i.e. a row is copied, so it is shown twice. The text is not really gone; I can restore it by selecting it (e.g. with Ctrl-a). I.e. only the text display is affected. The behavior is not quite reproducible. It does happen frequently, but I can't reproduce it exactly by typing the same text again. I had never observed this behavior before the latest Firefox upgrade. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301225 Title: Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: System info: Firefox 28 Thunderbird 24.4.0 Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit When I edit text in Firefox or Thunderbird, parts of this text (usually entire rows above the cursor) seem to disappear while I type. I just noticed that sometimes the text is not simply blanked out, but replaced with graphics from elsewhere in the FF window. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301225 Title: Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: System info: Firefox 28 Thunderbird 24.4.0 Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit When I edit text in Firefox or Thunderbird, parts of this text (usually entire rows above the cursor) seem to disappear while I type. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 879950] Re: pidgin not showing up
I have the same problem (pidgin 2.10.3 on mint 13 with unity and backport). I can also make pidgin show up when I remove .purple/prefs.xml. But then, the window frame (title bar with minimize, maximize and close icons, drag corners) behaves as if it weren't there. E.g. I can't drag the pidgin window because when I click the frame, the click goes through to the window below it, or to the desktop if there is no such window. But I can use the contents of the pidgin window as usual. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pidgin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879950 Title: pidgin not showing up Status in “pidgin” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “pidgin” package in Unity Linux: New Bug description: Pidgin is just not visible.
