penalvch, please see the following contents of
/var/log/lightdm/x-0-greeter.log which were generating when this input
focus issue was present at the time of logging in:
Activating service name='org.a11y.atspi.Registry'
Successfully activated service 'org.a11y.atspi.Registry'
[+0.00s] DEBUG:
[Workaround] If you right hand click on the password box, then left hand
click back into it, input focus is restored and you can now enter your
password.
This appears to be an input focus issue whereby the password box is
not truly set to receive keyboard input.

Hi, having just installed 14.04, I am having this exact same issue.
The version of lightdm I am running is 1.9.5. Can you tell me how I can
get a newer version which fixes this problem, please?
