Additional info: if I do a software update which results in me having to restart Ubuntu after the update, the bug is temporarily fixed. What happens is that, following the restart, I can now type straight into the password field on the unity-greeter screen without first having to click on the

[Workaround] If you right hand click on the password box, then left hand click back into it, input focus is restored and you can now enter your password. This appears to be an input focus issue whereby the password box is not truly set to receive keyboard input. -- You received this bug
