This may not totally be a firefox issue. It might also be related to a version conflict. This was on an upgrade from 14.10 to 15.04. The strange thing was that only the mozilla applications caused/triggered the problem. It did indeed cause a full freeze. No mouse, and no hotkeys would respond.
