[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1247832] [NEW] Lightdm often fails to show greeter (mouse cursor briefly visibly) ubuntu 13.10

2013-11-04 Thread Justin Ossevoort
Public bug reported:

On boot (or lightdm restart) often I don't get to see the greeter. Only
after running 'sudo restart lightdm' a couple of time do I get to
actually make it work.

X starts (and the mouse cursor is briefly visible) but shuts down
immediatly without an error in the logs.

On failure the lightdm greeter log shows:

(gnome-settings-daemon:2569): Gdk-WARNING **: gnome-settings-daemon:
Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1097315] Re: Xorg hangs in drm_helper_connector_dpms

2013-03-25 Thread Justin Ossevoort
I must have missed that kernel in my testing, because I've been working with
linux-image-3.8.0-13-generic=3.8.0-13.23 for about 2 days now without any
problems (3.8.0-12 still had problems for me according to my notes).
So it appears to have been fixed (though the fix was a different upload than
the one for which it was resolved).

Thanks for the good work!
