[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1586539] Re: Major screen flickering in Chromium and Google Chrome
Thank you Joakim. Fix works perfectly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1586539 Title: Major screen flickering in Chromium and Google Chrome Status in X.Org X server: Unknown Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: On a fresh installation of Ubuntu 16.04 I noticed major screen flickering issues in Chromium and Google Chrome browsers. Since this never happened in Ubuntu 15.10 with exactly the same Google Chrome binary, I believe, bug is caused by something that was added/updated in 16.04. I came across some discussions where different people suggested that it is related to new X.Org version. Here's a video to show what is happening: https://youtu.be/l21WsKz3fZc?t=45s I could fix this flickering with --disable-gpu-compositing switch, but this slows down page drawing significantly so it can't be considered a workaround. There is also a Chromium bug report: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=606152, but I don't think they will fix an Ubuntu-specific bug. Update: this indeed happens only when browser window is maximized. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1506587] Re: Unity Desktop does not respect cursor theme after update
** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1506587 Title: Unity Desktop does not respect cursor theme after update Status in unity-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After update on 20151015 at 9:54 EST Unity desktop no longer respects cursor theme. Ubuntu release is Wily (e.g. 15.10) beta. Update contained the following packages: Oct 15 09:54 hud_14.10+15.10.20151012-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb Oct 15 09:54 libhud2_14.10+15.10.20151012-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb Oct 15 09:54 libunity-settings-daemon1_15.04.1+15.10.20151012-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb Oct 15 09:54 unity-settings-daemon_15.04.1+15.10.20151012-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb Instead of the correct cursor theme "Ultimate-white24" the default white cursor theme is displayed on the desktop and most GTK3 applications. Some applications such as Firefox still show the correct "Ultimate-white24" cursor as long as the cursor stays in the application but changes to the default white cursor if the cursor moves to the window decoration or desktop. Unity Tweak and dconf-editor show that the cursor theme is set to "Ultimate-white24" and the alternatives (e.g. update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme) also show the cursor theme to be "Ultimate-white24". At the Unity Greeter (e.g. Lightdm) the cursor theme is correct but it changes to the default white cursor as soon as the login is started. Let me know if I can provide any more information, screenshots etc. Thanks ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10 Package: unity 7.3.2+15.10.20151002.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.2.0-16.19-generic 4.2.3 Uname: Linux 4.2.0-16-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.19.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Scanning for Btrfs filesystems fsck from util-linux 2.26.2 /dev/sda2: clean, 418973/13582336 files, 9730415/54308096 blocks CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Thu Oct 15 13:52:02 2015 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: wily DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 5.0.4, 4.2.0-16-generic, x86_64: installed GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
