[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1704628] Re: CUPS keeps crashing 17.04

2017-07-19 Thread Luc D.
The crash pop-ups relate to both cupsd and cups-browsed with same
"crashed with SIGSEGV in__strcasecmp_l_avx()" explanation. However, this
is not systematic: yesterday I got both cupsd and cups-browsed crash
reports immediately after start-up, today no crash report yet, even
after more than 30 mins of activity. Few more hints:

$: systemctl status cups-browsed
cups-browsed.service - Make remote CUPS printers available locally
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/cups-browsed.service; enabled; vendor
preset: enabled)
Active: failed (Result: core-dump) since Wed 2017-07-19 18:30:08 CST; 39min

 Main PID: 1165 (code=dumped, signal=SEGV)

failed state.
Jul 19 18:30:08 luc-desktop systemd[1]: cups-browsed.service: Failed with
result 'core-dump'.

$ systemctl status cups.socket
● cups.socket - CUPS Scheduler

Jul 19 18:30:07 luc-desktop systemd[1]: Listening on CUPS Scheduler.
Jul 19 18:30:08 luc-desktop systemd[1]: cups.socket: Unit entered failed state.

I may need to re-install if the issue is too singular and too
complicated, what do you think?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1704628] Re: CUPS keeps crashing 17.04

2017-07-18 Thread Luc D.
I used the command line ubuntu-bug cups. I confirm I get the systematic
internal error pop-up at start-up and I have just submitted again a
report "cups-browsed crashed with SIGSEGV in__strcasecmp_l_avx()" but it
does not help much... . Please let me know how I can get you the "stack
trace", I am not familiar with bug reporting.

Thanks.
