[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2015660] Re: Unable to set Super+P as custom shortcut

2023-04-09 Thread Lucio Braz de Araujo Junior
lucio@biscoito:~$ gsettings get org.gnome.mutter.keybindings switch-monitor
['p', 'XF86Display']

Add 'Super+P' as a custom shortcut maybe should disable and warn about
Mutter switch-monitor keybind.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1970081] Re: The background image of the login window cannot be changed

2023-02-20 Thread Lucio Menzel
login screen is controlled by lightdm, the configuration is under
/etc/lighdm/lightdm.conf

You can set the values on this file using menu -> control center ->
Login Window

However lightdm will take the configuration values from files under
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/

So... either rename the directory lightdm.conf.d or delete the files
under this directory

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 326582] Re: sort order of files listings in nautilus is not alphabetical

2018-11-03 Thread Lucio Crusca
Talk about zombies! This report is so old I couldn't even realize I was
the one who created it in the first place, until I read that information
above the comments.

I've now took the time to read all the comments again.

@Chris Billington: I really don't know what kind of drugs I was on when
I wrote my comments here, but now I wish I never wrote most of that
shit. Sebastien was absolutely right, this is not the place to discuss
such feature requests. At that time I used to use Ubuntu, and I recall I
was quite fed up with Gnome user experience. I can only guess I used the
wrong tool to let off steam. Ubuntu provided me with the right tool
shortly after when it switched to Unity, which led me to switch back to
Debian...

sort order of files listings in nautilus is not alphabetical

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

I'd like to have an option to see the files and directories in
alphabetical order in nautilus. For example, if I have the following
  directories:

  20050501
  200607
  200901

the 'ls' command lists them in alphabetical order, just like above,
but nautilus shows them in numerical order:

  200607
  200901
  20050501

which is not always the desired behavior (in this example it is not,
  obviously).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1320691] [NEW] Gedit does not display latest files opened

2014-05-18 Thread Lucio
Public bug reported:

The Gedit text editor have a useful feature which is called Latest
Opened Files.

This feature list the most recent files opened on a list after click in
an arrow close to the Open button on the Toolbar.

On my system, I click the arrow to get the list but all that I get is
No items found where files name should be.

After a month of use, I've opened files on Gedit through command line,
double clicking on Nautilus and under Gedit using the Open button and
File - Open... and File - Quick Open... menus.

Still no recent file appears.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1000775] Re: [12.04] [ Precise] .xsession-errors getting spammed filling up the disk.

2013-06-30 Thread Lucio
I faced this problem using Ubuntu 12.10 but there are users of Ubuntu
13.04 with the same problem. e.g. http://askubuntu.com/q/314710/62483

[12.04] [ Precise] .xsession-errors getting spammed filling up the
  disk.

Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:

The problem really is that .xsession-errors file in the /home/user
directory is allowed to grow to an unlimited size. On my system this file got
filled with error messages from indicator-weather and filled up my entire disk.

  manjo@lazy:~$ df -h

  none7.8G 604K 7.8G 1% /run/shm
  /dev/sda195M 118K 95M 1% /boot/efi
  overflow1.0M 92K 932K 9% /tmp
  manjo@lazy:~$

Of which .xsession-errors.old file accounts for 31GB

  -rw--- 1 manjo manjo 5.4K May 17 09:13 .xsession-errors
  -rw--- 1 manjo manjo 31G May 16 21:03 .xsession-errors.old

You might be able to solve this problem if you delete the .xsessions-
errors file once it grows to say 1GB or even better create it in /tmp
so that it is removed on shutdown and does not eat up my full disk
space. This bug renders the system useless, I cant even file a bug
with ubuntu-bug, and it is very hard to find out what is eating up
the disk space since .xsession-error.old is a hidden file any normal
user will have no clue what just eat up his disk.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1075034] Re: sound card not detected by pulseaudio

2012-11-04 Thread Lucio Torre
Ive found a way to consistently reproduce it:

start the device
the device is detected
select the device as sound output
start playing music (tried mplayer and rhythmbox)
turn off the device
turn on the device
the device is no longer detected
pulseaudio -k
pulseaudio --start
the device is again detected.

2012-08-28 Thread Lucio
** Description changed:

- I opened the propierties of a image faile and Description of the file
- was too long and the window is expanded to display the information
- instead of inserting end of files.
+ When I open the properties of an image file, there are times when the
+ size of this window was so long that this goes out of display range.
+ This event is due to an issue on the IMAGE label, this one has a lot of
+ information, such as size, camera model, etc. One of this information is
+ Description and when Description length is too long the window is
+ adapted instead of inserting EOF (End Of Line).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 512413] Re: [Upstream] Calc database functions gives Err:504 when external sheet is used

2012-08-19 Thread Lucio
I actually cannot figure out where is the ambiguity. The database to
work on has to be provided in an attached worksheet as I did with
Prova1.ods. The following step is to create the DB.MEDIA function is a
separate file as I did with Prova2.ods. The DB.MEDIA (DAVERAGE)
function is:

=DB.MEDIA('PATH_TO/prova1.ods'#$Foglio1.D1:E5;'PATH_TO/prova1.ods'#$Foglio1.D1;'PATH_TO/prova1.ods'#$Foglio1.G2:G3)

considering the syntax of the function DB.MEDIA (DAVERAGE):

DAVERAGE(Database; DatabaseField; SearchCriteria)

Database consists into

a b
1 1
2 1
3 1
100 0

in Prova1 sheet

DatabaseField consists into D1 in Prova1 sheet

SearchCriteria consists into

b
1

in Prova1 sheet

I am not able to be more specific.

2012-08-16 Thread Lucio
I can confirm that the bug is still present in LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 under Ubuntu
10.04 AMD64. The function results in the Err:504 error.
The steps to reproduce are the same described in my first mail in this thread.
Extensions installed:
- American English spell checking
- Dizionario ortografico italiano
- Fornitore di script per Python
- PDF importer

I open nautilus with 2 tabs.
In one of these tabs (for example the first) i do a research, and in the
other i do other stuff (for example i open a directory i found searching in the
first tab: i right click on the directory and then open in a new tab).

When i close the second tab (and return to the first) the research is
restarted. I see searching (and after a while the results)
instead of seeing the old results, that i found firstly.

I am not sure i've been clear, so ask me if you didn't understand.

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When an user talks to me on Empathy:

  1) If the my dialog window is closed, ubuntu (11.10) signal it's message icon
(on the upper panel), properly, to color blue.
  2) If the my dialog window is already open, ubuntu does not change the icon
color, even when the dialog window isn't on focus.

In the case (2), the notification popup is shown properly.
The only problem is the color of the message icon, on the upper panel.

I think it's important in case I didn't see the popup notification. i.e. when
I'm not in front of my computer.

practical.
