Copy disk - disk to copy disappears when 'copy' button clicked
I also find the removal of type-ahead very frustrating. I think an
option to re-enable it should be available.
In my opinion the previous behavior was more intuitive: if I wanted to
search fo something I would have used the search function at hand.
Before it was possible to discern the two
Appending acpi_osi= to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in etc/default/grub
fixed both the problem of the two special keys for brightness +/- and
the wireless adapter toggle not working.
sudo gedit etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash acpi_osi=
sudo update-grub
sudo reboot

I don't have the power indicator problem on my HP Folio 13 with Ubuntu
13.04, but I have the problem of the two special keys for brightness +/-
as well as the wireless adapter toggle not working.
It appears the patch provided in
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54621 fixes all of those
This bug is still present on Ubuntu 12.10 / brasero 3.4.1-0ubuntu3 amd64.
Hans workaround works for me too.

The issue disappeared today but I don't know for sure what fixed it. The
only thing I remember doing is installing the libreoffice package,
which I noticed it was missing in my system. I cannot be sure it was
that installation which fixed the problem though.
