indeed this seems to be something that is happening now in the later gnome3 enabled distros. The analysis in comment #31 stands ( after debugging again on suse 12.3 where this is reproducible ) So some info Note text colour is taken from the system help text

ok I this is a system - gnome/kde/whatever settings thing after chasing through the binary format, in sample doc the colour id associated with the font used for the caption text has an id of 0x51, there is no colour palette associated with this document so we fall down into ColorData
