I have the same problem in 12.04 with telepathy-sunshine 0.1.8 or 0.2.0. I see in the plugin config file (profile.xml) and the debugging window that the contacts were imported from the server. I can also receive messages from gadu gadu contacts, even read and reply; the contact name also
