[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1574645] [NEW] firefox launching at start up can't purge

2016-04-25 Thread checoimg
Public bug reported:

My problem is simple. Firefox is launching by itself at startup. I can't
disable this and if I try to purge it then it tries to also uninstall
MATE desktop WTF ??!!

sudo apt-get purge firefox && sudo apt-get install -y firefox
[sudo] password for mateuser:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  firefox* ubuntu-mate-core* ubuntu-mate-desktop*
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
After this operation, 107 MB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] n
Abort.

I don't get what's happening here, Firefox is not part of a DE. I was
considering to donate to the project but with this FOSS radical attitude
I wouldn't.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 247433] Re: double-finger scroll and double-finger tapping entangled in synaptics

2015-06-30 Thread checoimg
This is still a bug. It would easily fixed if an option to disable two-
finger right click can be disabled. Which in my humble opinion is just a
duplicated functionality, touchpads already have buttons for left and
rich click. The only thing missing in a touchpad is a scrolling wheel.

double-finger scroll and double-finger tapping entangled in synaptics

Status in Mactel Support:

Status in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When the multi-finger tapping is on, and when two-finger scrolling
quickly in a window, the right-click menu often appears. Apparently
the two-finger scroll and two-finger tap gets entangled. A small patch
to the mactel version of synaptics is attached.

Unfortunately, not knowing anything about this code, I cannot say much
about regression risks with the patch. To me, it simply looks like an
  unwanted line in the code.

For clarification, this affects the default synaptics driver in Ubuntu
as well as a patched version of synaptics that this bug was originally
  filed against.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 247433] Re: double-finger scroll and double-finger tapping entangled in synaptics

2015-06-30 Thread checoimg
I fixed this with Synclient in the terminal :

synclient TapButton2=0;

And then added to sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
 :

Section InputClass
Identifier Default clickpad buttons
MatchDriver synaptics
Option TapButton2 0
EndSection

Still have to reboot and see if that works

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1172502] Re: Pitivi rendering fails to load crasing rendering dialog window

2013-05-17 Thread checoimg
File : Hack - Triumph of The Nerds - The Rise of Accidental Empires
(1996) 1of3 (PBS).avi 500 MB

If you download this file and try to convert it with WinFF and I get the
following output inside terminal :

avconv version 0.8.6-6:0.8.6-1ubuntu2, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav
developers
  built on Mar 30 2013 22:20:06 with gcc 4.7.2
[mpeg4 @ 0xe92be0] Invalid and inefficient vfw-avi packed B frames detected
Input #0, avi, from '/home/zahory/Videos/Hackers/Hack - Triumph of The Nerds -
The Rise of Accidental Empires (1996) 1of3 (PBS).avi':
  Metadata:
encoder : VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 (build 2439/release)
  Duration: 00:50:37.33, start: 0.00, bitrate: 1380 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4 (Advanced Simple Profile), yuv420p, 640x480 [PAR

Stream #0.1: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 224 kb/s
Unknown encoder 'libmp3lame'

With Pitivi it is no longer crashing but hangs while Estimating time for
rendering.

I'm trying to use Pitivi because I want to merge all 3 videos into one.
I believe the only way to reproduce this bug is to use a AC-3 audio codec in a
video file and try to use it in Pitivi.

If you can download the file in the begining and only that one and try
it out.

** Attachment added: You can download the file I'm using with a torrent
