One of the recent updates has changed the situation on my machine to the better
:-)
Dock and Undock events are working again
Also Plug and Unplug events are working again
Only remaining regression is that Power On/Off events of the external
monitor are not recognised.

Hi Timo,
glad to hear it works for you.
On my machine the situation is still the same.
In the meantime I verified the bug to exist in the live usb of xbuntu and
lubuntu as well.
Ciao,

An other tought:
If the GNOME team refuses to fix this bug, why does Ubuntu still use gvfs for
samba shares?
Wouldn't it be easier to implement cifs in a way similar to pyNeighbourhood ?
I mean using cifs directly and not using the buggy gvfs-fuse GNOME software ?
It does not look very
Public bug reported:
When I connect or disconnect an external monitor, or when I switch the
power of a connected monitor on and off, the state does not get

Also here, just upgraded to raring - the bug is still there :-(

Evolution
Public bug reported:
Only with some E-Mails Evolution crashes with
evolution[8683]: segfault at 7f3844020de0 ip 7f3844020de0 sp

when I just click them in my Imap Folder.
On my machine this is 100% reproduceable.
Click on the E-Mail - wait for about 1 minute -
In a dual montior setup do nothing blanks **BOTH** screens
Even worse opening the lid the monitors remained black, no matter what I tried
I could not get them back.
I had to reboot using magic sysreq REISUB.
This behaviour is present in Oneiric and Precise on my ACER Laptop with
Intel Graphics
Hi I experience the same problem on one of my 64bit oneirc systems.
I just upgraded two machines from natty to oneirc, and one of them is affected
by the bug, the other not.
Very strange.
Anyway I followed the instructions mentioned in post #2 and attached the
resulting file.
Bye, Franco
The problem is somehow triggerd by the installed languages.
I had English, German, French, Italian, Portuguise and Esperanto
installed on the machine that was affected by the bug.
Now I just removed all languages but English and German, and now the
user-accounts starts up as it should.
