[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1590492] Re: Cursor is flickering or leaving annoying trails using 3 monitors

2016-09-30 Thread grgtvs
Yes AS I said, I had not installed any other linux or ubuntu
distribution on this laptop before, so I couldn't possibly know if there
was any issues.

I'll try the live build and I'll come back to you with the results.

Title:
Cursor is flickering or leaving annoying trails using 3 monitors

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Mouse cursor leaving trails or flickers when I've 2 external screens
attached. One is in a HDMI port and the other in a Mini Display Port
as well as the laptop built in monitor. The problem is more intense in
the monitor that is attached in the HDMI port now but in previous
installations the problem was more acute at the display attached in
  the Mini Display Port.

Also the it seems that the flickering is quite prominent when I'm
hovering on Chrome's/Chromium tabs or other widgets (possibly GTK's).

Also what regards the cursor trails, that's happening in every screen
when I'm hovering over the title bar or window menu bar.

  I'm using nouveau.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1590492] Re: Cursor is flickering or leaving annoying trails using 3 monitors

2016-09-29 Thread grgtvs
Sorry I haven'r seen you comment.

As per your 1st question - I don't know that since I've only tried using
3 screens in 16.04, prior to that I had a desktop setup (11.04 to 14.04)
with 2 screens without any problems, either using the nvidia drivers
either the nouveau.

Regarding the nvidia propertiary drivers they don't work for me at all. Even
when I did manage make them work the mini-display port didn't work so I could
use only the screen in the HDMI port and the build-in screen.
Only when I'm using the nouveau driver I'm able to use all the 3 screens
together but with that annoying issue.
