The grub boot loader displayed, and once it started booting into Ubuntu, the last line (in 'text' mode) was saying "changing into EFI VGA"; after that there were no monitor output, as if it were connected, but just a black display; and unlike a poorly configured X.conf, it was just black. No cursor, no switch to terminal (CTRL+ALT+F1) I installed on a DisplayPort-to-Dvi monitor with a 1m cable, and then after the install finished and rebooted, I switched it back to DisplayPort connected to the LG 34" over a 15m cable. My screen was all flickering, pixelated line distortions flicker across the screen. The NonfreeKernelModules information would be incorrect, since I installed the nvidia proprietary drivers.
