We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-standard-support on April 25, 2019. Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time. Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1336831 Title: upgrade to 14.04 completely scrambles screen - rendering machine useless Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I was running 13.10. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1336831] Re: upgrade to 14.04 completely scrambles screen - rendering machine useless
I thought... Maybe it was just an upgrade issue. So I burned a kubuntu 14.04 64-bit DVD and tried the installer. The installer is also a complete mess. Picure attached... Pretty much totally useless... Guess I'll have to find a distro/version that works... ** Attachment added: installer screen shot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1336831/+attachment/4143943/+files/2014-07-02%2010.29.27.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1336831 Title: upgrade to 14.04 completely scrambles screen - rendering machine useless Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I was running 13.10. Upgrading to 14.04 makes the machine completely useless in X. I have a couple of screen pictures. I'll attach one of them... It only wants me to to attach a single picture... $ lspci -v 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS690 Host Bridge Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
