I was affected by this bug from the gdm side (my gdm session crashed, taking away all my X sessions whenever a user was added or deleted). I can confirm that installing the new accountservice packages provided by H.-Dirk Schmitt fixes the bug for me. I'm not sure if a full backport is needed.
