have not time to learn gdb but if get instruction I can test,...
debian realted forum's give's glue that could be broken gconf
and sugget rebuilding database whit gconf-rebuild,... and script/software
can's find from ubuntu

Apport is on,... from /var/crash can not find report,..
syslog say's:
