Correction:
There is a false information in comment #10, that is a system with [10de:11fc], 
sorry to confused you here.

Update:
12.04.4 on System with [10de:1140],  the driver still not listed in the latest 
jockey, 0.9.7-0ubuntu7.14, but install manually as in comment #10 the graphic 
driver will work just fine.

I purged the nvidia-331 and nvidia-prime then re-activate the driver again by 
jockey-gtk,
and there is no nvidia-prime install by jockey. please check the log.

Thanks for the hint, now manually install nvidia-prime, does make it work on 
this system(201308-14114).
But nvidia-prime does not install along with nvidia-331-updates when enabling 
by using jockey, 
this is still a problem for users only know how to use jockey.

further findings,

I've tried to install nvidia-311 and nvidia-prime packages in the same
time, but system will freeze at ubuntu desktop loading screen after
reboot.

To make nvidia driver work, have to following the orders below:

1. make sure purge previous nvidia drivers

2. $ jockey-text -e kmod:nvidia_331

3. reboot

4. $ apt-get install nvidia-prime

Then reboot the system nvidia driver will work as expected.

Tried to manually install the 331.38 Nvidia driver (available as
http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-
March2009/confirmation.php?url=/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/331.38/NVIDIA-
Linux-x86_64-331.38.runlang=ustype=GeForce) on a Dell E5540 unit
equipped with Nvidia GT620M GPU, and got the same

(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not
found)

error in /var/log/Xorg.0.log, too.
