While I tend to agree with you for applications, those filters are useful for system components, you don't want to have 3 system settings identic entries under e.g GNOME because KDE and XFCE happen to be installed on the machine and each has its system settings UI (just as an example) -- You

Hi there. Thank you for your response. I'll surely list this upstream, as I do indeed consider this to be a really, really annoying bug that is easily fixable. Realistically speaking, having a line like OnlyShowIn does nothing except inhibit users from utilizing this software on other desktop
