I tested a live CD and it is working at the live system.
It is sill the same problem with ubuntu 14.04.

It works also under Ubuntu 14.04. You can try it with a life CD or USB.
Please also attach the information of your system by doing from a
terminal:
apport-collect 1300777

Looks like Xcfe does not give permission to delete the file?
