If anybody experiencing this problem can begin to try and determine a
pattern of how to reproduce this issue, that will go a long way in
getting this fixed. I agree that this is a very undesirable bug for very
obvious reasons.

I have no observed this on vivid+overlay, but I have been on wily+silo
038 recently and on a walk back from town I observed the 'random'
increases of volume for short periods of time at the start of a new
track.
However I don't think this was related to notifications, as mobile data is
broken on
