Karl-Philipp, We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Ubuntu 15.04 (vivid) reached end-of-life on February 4, 2016. Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported release of Ubuntu? For the record I can't confirm this issue using gedit 3.30 in Ubuntu 19.04 (dev). Please let us know if you do otherwise this bug report will expire in approximately 60 days time. Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better. I can't confirm that, ctrl-H does open a dialog with the currently selected text pre-entered -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492397 Title: Ctrl+H doesn't copy selected text into the "search for" text input at first invocation after other text has been replaced Status in gedit package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: steps to reproduce: 1. write text and select a part of it 2. press Ctrl+H and replace the text with different text and close the replace dialog 3. select another part of the text and press Ctrl+H The text in the "search for" text input is still the selection of the first replacement, but should be the current select.
