Public bug reported:

I am trying out Kubuntu at the moment and I have noticed that when watching
videos they flicker. I have tried the different options in the 'Compositor
Settings for Desktop Effects' Tearing Prevention and none seem to make a
difference other than that if I put it on automatic, the top half of the screen
flickers, and with 'full screen repaints' the whole screen flickers. I have
tried the official Nvidia driver (352), the one from software centre and the
default one - all make the video flicker in full screen. I had the same problem
while using Linux Mint Mate, but not while using the Cinnamon Desktop, I also
don't remember the problem occurring while using Ubuntu Unity Desktop.
I am fairly new to Linux so I don't know too much about how to go about
finding out the problem.
