  after some dirty fix (sudo rmmod iwlmvm iwlwifi && sudo modprobe

Atheros AR9462 - the same problem. rmmod ath9k && modprobe ath9k fixes
the problem

I have the same issue, however using brcmfmac instead of iwlwifi.

Your workaround (reloading the module) works fine.
