Title:
  It takes a while for the tray notification menu to open when clicking
  on the time and date in the top bar

Bug description:
  Dear all,

  Once I click on the time and date entry in the top bar, it takes a
  couple of seconds for the menu to open [1].

  Tested on Ubuntu 17.10 with the latest updates installed.

  Not sure if this is a bug or user error.
