[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1756788] Re: Removing "Startup Applications" in "Ubuntu Software" makes the system unable to launch GDM
We need to write AppStream metadata for gnome-session-properties and add the compulsory_for_desktop field. It's the opposite of what this patch does: https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/epiphany-browser/blob/debian/master/debian/patches/dont-make-compulsory.patch Alternatively, we could add a new binary package for the gnome-session- properties app to actually allow it to be uninstalled. ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1756788 Title: Removing "Startup Applications" in "Ubuntu Software" makes the system unable to launch GDM Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Removing "Startup Applications" in "Ubuntu Software" makes the system unable to launch GDM ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: gnome-session-bin 3.28.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-12.13-generic 4.15.7 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.8-0ubuntu10 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Mar 19 12:54:57 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-03-15 (4 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Alpha amd64 (20180314) SourcePackage: gnome-session UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/1756788/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
